U-CUP ROD METRIC

DESCRIPTION

Our R-5 seal is the Hallite T617 multi-lip rod u-seal. This seal was specifically developed to meet the requirements of ISO 6020-2 160 bar compact cylinders. The housing sizes conform to those given for such cylinders in ISO 5597. 

The R-5 seal combines the pressure-compensating, uni-directional characteristics of a u-seal with the multi-lip sealing effectiveness of compression-type stacked packings. This seal style utilizes several sealing lip edges for dry rod performance while minimizing friction. The multi-lip design maintains a critical sealing edge even though increasing pressure moves the line of contact down toward the heel. 

Manufactured in the black version of Hallite's high performance Hythane® polyurethane, the R-5 is an extremely flexible seal making installation very easy. The sealing lips are precision trimmed for consistent sealing performance.
