QUAD RING

DESCRIPTION

The Quad Seal is a four-lobed seal that provides twice the sealing surface of a comparable standard o-ring. Because of this double-seal action, less squeeze is required to maintain an effective seal. This reduction in squeeze means less friction and therefore, improved seal life. 

Due to it's four-lobed design, the Quad Seal does not encounter "spiral twist" that is a problem with standard o-rings. In the long stroke of a reciprocating seal application, this twisting action can strain and finally rupture the rubber. The Quad Seal's configuration is designed to withstand the distortion and extrusion often caused by high or pulsating pressure, and thus eliminates this rolling action. 

The standard material is 70-durometer Nitrile, though other materials and durometers are available.
